Kos Harbour, 1939 to now
The boat still carries his name
Tasos was born in 1931 and started fishing at eight years old, in 1939. He worked this same stretch of water for the rest of his life, learned where the fish sit in every season, and passed all of it to his son.
His son Alex grew up on that boat. In 2015 he started taking visitors out on it, the first fishing trips anyone offered on the island of Kos, twice a day from the same quay and over the same ground his father worked. The rods are better now and Tasos is no longer with us. What has not changed is who is on board: a family that fishes, not a company that sells tickets.
You will see his face in the photographs on the wall of the wheelhouse, and his name painted on the bow in Greek letters. We did not rebrand when he died. There was nothing to rebrand.

Who you will meet
Alex Androullis
Tasos’s son. He runs the business and skippers both trips. If you want to know why we stopped where we stopped, ask him. He will tell you, at length.
Mariana Androullis
Alex’s wife. She is usually on the afternoon trips, and she is the one who keeps the whole operation from falling apart on a busy August day.
Timi
Crews the morning trip. She unhooks the fish you would rather not touch and remembers which child caught what.
